MEMBERSHIP What is the meaning of membership? Being a member means that you are part of our spiritual family and have decided that this is your church home. Why do you need a spiritual family?

Steps to Membership at Restoration Family Church(RFC) There is a COST!!! “Suppose one of you want to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost...” - Luke 14:28 “Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labour” – Ecclesiastes 4:9

What will it cost you? Commitment to the cause Obedience in the use of your gifts $Tithing is a matter of the Heart, not of the wallet (Matthew 6:20 & 21) Time 1 Peter 4:10 & 11 - Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen You are the body of Christ and your role at RFC is as a member of a rowing team. God’s gifts are to serve others and glorify God. (1 Peter 4:10 – 11) Devout yourself first to the Lord and then to Restoration Family Church (1 Corinthians 8:5) because then you will be serving with the right heart attitude. Obedience always brings reward 2 Corinthians 8:1 – 5 And now, brothers, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. 2 Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. 3 For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, 4 they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints. 5 And they did not do as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us in keeping with God's will. 2 Corinthians 9:7 - Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. Money empowers vision : (Genesis 26:12 – 16) We see here that Isaac became so wealthy that he was a threat to abimelech. His wealth made him powerful. God blesses you and we further the Kingdom (2 Cor. 9:6 – 12) Money facilitates saving souls – Facilities, Follow up, Materials, Missions Membership at RFC will cost you in the area of your time: Community: Romans 12: 10 & 11 “Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honour one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervour, serving the Lord.” It costs time to build & maintain these relationships Evangelism: It costs time to maintain relationships with the lost and effort to draw them into the family. Loving God: It costs time to cultivate intimacy with God. Proverbs 4:20 -23 says that if we keep His word in our heart, we will have life and health. Learning: It costs time to further your knowledge of the word of God Serving: It costs time to be in church on a Sunday morning and to attend the Prayer Meeting during the week and to be faithful in exercising your gifts. (1 Peter 4:!0)

Statement of Faith The Bible – We believe that the Bible is inspired by God God – We believe that the Godhead is eternally co-equal an co-existant in three persons. Not Three Gods, but One and not one person but three. The Father, The Son and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ – We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Thus we uphold His absolute deity as well as His complete humanity – Two natures by one undivided person.

Statement of Faith The Resurrection – We believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and that He ascended into heaven where He is now seated at the right hand God, the position of power and authority. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead. Lordship – We confess the Lord Jesus Christ, and no other, as head of the Church and as our Lord. The second coming of Christ – We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will manifest Himself in Glory, majesty and power and in physicalm presence. This is the second coming of Christ and the blessed hope of the church.

Statement of Faith The Fall – Every individual has sinned and is guilty before God. Man, by nature is depraved and incapable of saving his own soul. Redemption – The Lord Jesus Christ, by his life, death resurrection and ascension, has made available to all mankind the forgiveness of sins and eternal life. These blessings are made personally real to the individual not by works or by any personal merit in themselves, but by faith alone which must be accompanied by repentance. The New Birth – We believe in the necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit in the new birth, which makes a sinner a child of God.

Statement of Faith The Church - We believe that the true church consists of a community of true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ who, by faith, have had their sins forgiven and been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. We believe in the fellowship of all true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ recognizing that the true church is not confined to any one denomination. Baptism – We believe in baptism by immersion of believers only The Lord's Supper – We believe in the breaking of bread as commanded by our Lord Jesus Christ and as practised by the early church.

Statement of Faith Sanctification – The scriptures teach a life of holiness and we are to obey the command “Be Holy as I am Holy”. Believers are sanctified (set apart) for God. Continuation in sanctification is the will of God for all believers and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to God's word. Baptism in the Holy Spirit – We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the baptizer in the Holy Spirit and that this baptism, as a distinct experience from the new birth, is promised to every believer. Spiritual Gifts – We believe that God has never removed the gifts referred to in 1 Cor 12, 13 & 14 and that whenever the Holy Spirit moves upon the church in power, these gifts are manifested. We believe it is contrary to the Apostolic command for anyone to “forbid speaking in tongues”

Statement of Faith Divine Healing – We believe in the gifts of healing and that God still heals the sick in our day. Priesthood of all believers – Each individual believer has full and equal access to God, Through our Lord Jesus Christ, as a believer priest. The Ministry – The ascended Christ has given various ministries to the church and each of these exists for the strengthening of, and is essential to the welfare of the church.

Statement of Faith Miracles – We believe in miracles both as recorded in the Bible and as being in the present day. Judgement – We believe that both the living and the dead will be judged, it is being understood that the believer's condemnation was borne by our Lord Jesus in His redemptive work.

Who we are and what we believe Our Values determine not only who we are but also who we want to become. Mission – Gives Purpose Vision – Gives Direction Values Give Character - Phil 4:8 & 9

Whats important to us (Acts 2:42) CommunityTo Grow Closer Evangelism To grow bigger Loving GodTo grow spiritually LearningTo grow in Maturity Serving To help others grow

How do we do what we do? We do it well Excellence Relaxed – Proverbs 14:30 A Relaxed attitude lengthens life; jealousy rots it away We finish it We Participate (Romans 12:6) We See it through
