18 A 5 metre ladder is positioned 3.2 metres away from a vertical building wall. Will the ladder reach a window which is 4 metres from the ground? Show your working. x 2 = 5 2 - 3.2 2 x 2 = 25 – 10.24 x = √14.76 x = 3.8m (1.d.p.) So the ladder will not reach
