Neighbourhood & Home Watch Network (England & Wales) Registered Charity No: 1133637 Neighbourhood and Home Watch Network (NHWN) Neighbourhood and Home Watch Network (NHWN) is a national charity providing support for Neighbourhood and Home Watch members across England and Wales. The NHWN vision is that of a caring society that is focused upon trust and respect in which people are safe from crime and live in communities that enjoy a good quality of life. Established in 2007, Neighbourhood and Home Watch Network currently has at a national and regional level 5 directors, 10 regional representatives, 10 regional deputies and 3 members of staff, supporting 173,000 schemes covering 7.9 million members.

Neighbourhood & Home Watch Network (England & Wales) Registered Charity No: 1133637 Our Achievements Established our central office in Leicester to support members across England and Wales Developed our new website with the Design Council designed to engage the next generation of NHW Secured a National Database and Communication System using Neighbourhood Alert Delivered a number of training packages for grassroots members including older people and crime(Jan/Feb 2011), ICT support and peer visits to other NHW schemes. Secured a corporate sponsor to develop and deliver a Vocationally Recognised Qualification (VRQ) for community advocates aimed at NHW members and partners

Neighbourhood & Home Watch Network (England & Wales) Registered Charity No: 1133637 Our Achievements continued Continued support for grassroots – Through revised toolkits, negotiated Public Liability Insurance from the Home Office for all schemes and secured further (limited) support from the Home Office to produce and distributed window stickers Shared good practice through the provision of case studies and consultation Developed a network of key partners including Age UK, Catch 22, Water UK, Crimestoppers and the Big Lunch.

Neighbourhood & Home Watch Network (England & Wales) Registered Charity No: 1133637 Neighbourhood Watch Week 2011 Neighbourhood and Home Watch Week provides an opportunity for members to raise the profile of the movement amongst the local community, partners and the media. The eight day campaign runs from 18 th to 26 th June 2011 across England and Wales, empowering members to help bring their communities together to reduce crime and make their communities a better place to live. This year, the campaign will focus on three core strands; localism, the government’s ‘Big Society’ and digital engagement. Some Watch schemes may also choose to focus on localised issues in line with community needs.

Neighbourhood & Home Watch Network (England & Wales) Registered Charity No: 1133637 National Database and Neighbourhood Alert Communication System Provides a national platform to map schemes across England and Wales making your scheme easier to find for new members Enables registered members to securely manage local databases within a national framework. Ability to communicate on a variety of levels with and between registered users and other partners and organisations. Free to use for all NHW co-ordinators.

Crime statistics at scheme level linked to Police.UK with the ability to produce additional local crime reports (coming soon). Community e-messaging boards. End user in control of who they receive messages from and keep their own data up-to-date. Messages can be sent by priority setting and various methods to suit the end user. Ability to invite other users through scheme admin tools.
