SPES Control System Group Archiver MySQL Computer used for development and implementation of Archiver: Intel Core 2 CPU 2.80Ghz with 2GB RAM, Fedora Release 11 (Leonidas) Services running for the data storage of PV ArchiveEngine: Start at 23-02-2010 and restart 10-03-2010 AlarmServer: Start at 23-02-2010 today enabled LogServer: Start at 23-02-2010 today enabled ActiveMq: Start at 23-02-2010 today enabled Mysqld: Start at 23-02-2010 today enabled CPU Average Usage: 50% when you don't execute query. It's necessary a new PC Network History : very low with hit of 2.0KiB/s 11 Marzo 2010 Giovannini Loris

SPES Control System Group Archiver MySQL Actual Data Length into MySQL ALARM: 91 rows 3.19k Archive: 840064 rows 245.41 M Log: 49018755 rows 1.47 G The retrival of data is very important, Oracle is better then MySQL but is very expensive. We must find a solution and Hypertable may be a good free alternative to solve this IMPORTANT bottle neck. Today we have a benchtest with ONLY 260 PV and we have 840064 rows but the Target project was not competed, and the storage of data is a key point for the physics studies. Nowday the PVs running is 1K and is growing up. Tips: Whats about this Archiver on SPES project ????? We must focus on storage and retrival of the data into Hypertable without commodity hardware. 11 Marzo 2010 Giovannini Loris

SPES Control System Group Archiver MySQL A genuine request for a new computer is a work requirement of my activity. The extraction, manipulation, and storage of massive records is a very time consuming process on a commodity computer system. A new computer system will eliminate various bottlenecks and develop advanced technologies that will bring true benefit to the physics studies. I will highly appreciate for your immediate and positive cooperation on this matter. 11 Marzo 2010 Giovannini Loris
