Dicembre 2009SPES Control System GroupConforto Nicola Work done in the first month: -Setup of an EPICS database on a MV3100 based IOC (with vxWorks operating system) to store grid and faraday cup data. -Configuration of Xycom566 boards. -Configuration of Xycom240 boards. -Use of simple CSS interfaces to access/write PVs on remote IOC.

Dicembre 2009SPES Control System GroupConforto Nicola Xycom566 boards: (ADC boards, capturing voltage signals) -Acquisition of single signals (from a Faraday Cup). -Acquisition of grid current signals (from a Beam Profiler) by driving a serial analog multiplexer. (clock generated by Xycom566 board) Xycom240 boards: (Input/Output of digital signals) -Input signal from the limit switch(es) of the Faraday Cup positioning system -Output signal to set the Faraday Cup position

Control of a stepping motor for the emittance measurement. To be tested: - Connections with the devices on the FrontEnd - Current/voltage conversion of the signals - Amplification of the signals
