AMEDD A Humanitarian Mission
In over 80 countries; Army medical personnel are manning civilian hospitals, teaching local medical professionals, providing equipment and medication.

HPSP ELIGIBILITY Be a U.S. Citizen
Be enrolled in or possess a letter of acceptance or intent from an accredited graduate program either here in the U.S. or Puerto Rico Maintain full-time student status during the entire length of the program Qualify as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Reserve *

100 PERCENT Tuition! Reimbursement for REQUIRED books, equipment & most academic fees Monthly stipend of $1,992 $20,000 bonus!!

During School in HPSP: TOTAL Pay & Allowances per year $27,900.00

Medical Corps Pay and Entitlements
During your Residency: TOTAL Pay & Allowances per year $80,000.00 Average Salary of a civilian resident is $35, $40, per year. That’s almost DOUBLE the pay!

After your Residency: TOTAL Pay & Allowances per year is very competitive. There is NO such thing as MALPRACTICE!

HPSP Obligations RESIDENCY
You will apply for an Army residency, and can attend a civilian residency if it benefits both you and the Army. The match rate for Army residencies is much higher than civilian, making it easier to get into the specialty of your choice 10% MORE Doctors become board certified the first attempt after an Army residency compared to those who do not do an Army residency

HPSP Obligations Active Duty Obligation:
4 years for 4 years of scholarship participation OR the length of residency if it is longer

“You haven’t finished your training yet.”
HPSP Obligations RESIDENCY Two other points….. After your internship, you go directly into your residency, not into a General Medical Officer position. Some other military programs require the General Medical Officer position During this period, you WILL NOT be deployable “You haven’t finished your training yet.”
