Samsun is the main, largest and metropolitan city of the Black Sea Region
It is the trade, industry, finance and health center of the region. 4

5. Samsun is one of the four cities in Turkey which has a consolidated transport infrastructure:
airway, railway, overland route, sea route. It is an energy station with integration to logistic and international projects.

6. The inevitable trio of Samsun: the sea, sand and sun are important for tourism.The wide natural beaches with excellent type of sand across the shoreline is ideal for swimming. 6

7. The delta of Kızılırmak in Samsun is considered to be one of the most important bird wildlife habitat in the world. Each year around 60 ornithologists from all around the world come to watch and study these birds.

8. The founder of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk initiated the “War of Independence” on 19 May 1919 in Samsun. Because of this, Samsun is also called the “City of Ondokuz Mayıs”.

It is situated in a land of almost 10,000 acres with a view of the Black Sea on the one side and a view of the Kocadağ Mountain on the other side, which is well known for its national yearly walks. The campus is the best place to experience the Sea complimenting the mountains.
