The Day that Sussex Died 17 Officers and 349 ‘Other Ranks’ were killed in the attack at the Boar’s Head 21 Officers and 728 other ranks were wounded and an unknown number taken prisoner The dead included numerous sets of brothers Of those that died 70% were from Sussex
