Function of the committee It is in charge of all the disarmament topics, both global and regional. It deals with all the challenges and threats to peace. It considers all the situations that may affect the international community security. It provides solutions to all the challenges in the international security regime.

Objectives of the committee To consider all the disarmament and security matters taking into account the United Nations Charter. To work around the general principles of cooperation in order to keep de international peace and security To make all the governing disarmament and regulation of weaponry laws clear. To promote the cooperative treaties to strength the stability in terms of armaments between nations.

Topic A: Expansion of the transnational terrorism and it’s networks on Asia And Latin America Trasnational Terrorism: The use of terrorism as a way for striking fear in people in an specific territory. It makes ruling governments weak and use nationalistic arms for making their localized attacks. It involves the unlawful use of force and violence by internationally-linked groups against people in many parts of the world. The most important cases are between Asia and Latin America groups.

Transnational Terrorism cases must include: -International memberships -Aim to bring any regional or global political change -Aim of getting recognized some rights -Aim of having any economical reward for what they do

Subtopics: Unlawful groups in Latin America such as: -FARC EP & ELN -EZLN Unlawful groups in Asia: -ALI ALI BIN SAED EL-HOORIE member of Arabia Hizballah - HASAN IZZ-AL-DIN member of Lebanese Hizballah

International impact of unlawful group’s attacks inside or outside their territory. Effects on the political, economical and social situation of the country they’re coming from. Ways for preventing transnational terrorism. International organization’s role on preventing transnational terrorism.

Topic B: Private armies management Can be defined as a company Provides security and other services related to safety It is offered to non-military customers They operate on warlike zones

Providing military goods rather than services The indiscriminate use of private armies No longer the duty of the responsible use of force The defense of personal interests and how it can get to try to override the interests of the community How governments may be linked or not with some private armies and the effects this may bring to society

Subtopics To search for the reasons why some countries have private armies involved with their governments Investigate about how legal is it to manage a private army To find if it is true or false that a private army may be caused because of a lack of power and capacity for security by official armies Find solutions in order to regulate the private armies
