The Clean air act ●The original Clean Air Act was drafted in 1963 and was amended in 1965,1970, 1977, and 1990. ●The Clean Air Act was designed as a law for the USA and is regulated on a national level

Function ●The function of the Clean Air act was designed to protect the health of citizens in the US by regulating the emission of pollutants and and air quality.It esablished specific standards on particulate matter, ozone, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, and lead.It has also added new amendments that control pollutants from motor vehicles and modern industrial plants.In addition the act targets acid rain, chemical emissions, and regional haze.

Regulation ●The Clean air act is regulated by the EPA, and the EPA is required to set the air quality standards throughout the country. Individual states in the US are responsible for enforcing plans to keep up with these air quality standards, and individual states are also responsible for making sure no pollution drifts to states downwind of them.
