Grouping Students for Acceleration Students below the 40 th –1:8 ratio Students 40 th and above –1:12 ratio Kindergarten is 1:6 ratio at most Running Records for reading Common assessments for math and reading Curriculum Aligned Push in model – 2 or 3 teachers per room

Math Acceleration ½ hour a day –5-10 minutes of numeracy development –15-20 minutes of shared math –5 minutes cumulative review 5 days a week

Literacy Acceleration ½ hour a day –5-10 minutes of shared reading –15-20 minutes of guided –5 minutes of writing Students complete a depth of knowledge exit slip Students complete when not in guided Teacher checks-in for the last 5 minutes 5 days a week
