What is a Title I School? Title I is a federally funded program which provides services to schools based on student economic needs. Cobb County has 45 schools with 50% or more students participating in the school lunch program. Clarkdale Elementary School is 79.1% Free and Reduced Lunch as of Tuesday, 8/26/14 The purpose of Title I under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments.

Our School’s Requirements Clarkdale Elementary School is a School-wide Title I School. In a school-wide school, all students benefit from Title I resources.

Allocation of Title I Funds Funds (~$280, 000) are used to support and ensure a high-quality education for all students by highly qualified faculty and staff. Personnel Academic Coaches- Literacy & Math Parent Facilitator Educational Supplies Instructional Technology –Study Island, IStation, Fastmath, Fraction Nation, Parental Involvement/Parent Resource Center Tutoring Professional Development for Teachers and Paras

Proficiency Level Students are expected to be on or above grade by the end of the 2014-2015 school year. This is measured by a series of assessments including, but not limited to, DRA, Georgia Milestones, SLOs, etc.

Law Requirements for Parent Involvement Notification of Highly Qualified Teacher and Paraprofessional Status (Parent’s right to know) Notification of School Status under ESEA 1% of System Allocation must be reserved for Parent Involvement Our Parental Involvement budget for the 2014-2015 school year is $5000.00.

CCSD Parent Involvement Policy is found on the District Website under Title I department http://www.cobbk12.org/ Clarkdale School Policy Sent home by end of September Clarkdale School-Parent Compact Signed in October during conferences at Conference Week All Policies, Plans and Compact are revised- annually in the Spring with parent input.

Highly Qualified Staff All but one staff is Highly Qualified In the case of a supply teacher, they are certified/degreed in the subject area which they are temporarily teaching. Parents have the right to request information on the professional qualifications of their child’s teacher and paraprofessional providing service to their child
