3. What is a Title I School? Title I is a federally funded program which provides services to schools based on student economic needs.  Cobb County has 45 schools with 50% or more students participating in the school lunch program.  Clarkdale Elementary School is 79.1% Free and Reduced Lunch as of Tuesday, 8/26/14 The purpose of Title I under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments.

5. Our School’s Requirements Clarkdale Elementary School is a School-wide Title I School. In a school-wide school, all students benefit from Title I resources.

14. Proficiency Level  Students are expected to be on or above grade by the end of the 2014-2015 school year. This is measured by a series of assessments including, but not limited to, DRA, Georgia Milestones, SLOs, etc.

Law Requirements for Parent Involvement  Notification of Highly Qualified Teacher and Paraprofessional Status (Parent’s right to know)  Notification of School Status under ESEA  1% of System Allocation must be reserved for Parent Involvement  Our Parental Involvement budget for the 2014-2015 school year is $5000.00.

Law Requirements Continued...  CCSD Parent Involvement Policy is found on the District Website under Title I department http://www.cobbk12.org/  Clarkdale School Policy  Sent home by end of September  Clarkdale School-Parent Compact  Signed in October during conferences at Conference Week  All Policies, Plans and Compact are revised- annually in the Spring with parent input.

17. Highly Qualified Staff  All but one staff is Highly Qualified  In the case of a supply teacher, they are certified/degreed in the subject area which they are temporarily teaching.  Parents have the right to request information on the professional qualifications of their child’s teacher and paraprofessional providing service to their child
