In each chosen village, team of researchers recorded all household in the village with the help of elders and local leaders and representative households randomly selected.

5. 8/25/20155 Survey Administration A survey instrument was developed About 25 enumerators at Bsc level were hired and trained including pre testing of the instrument Training involves translating the questionnaire in Swahili or local languages Enumerators are normally group to reflect the various ethnic groups in the country Questionnaires are pre-tested on the farms and further training follows Every three enumerators are supervised by a research assistant for quality control The survey normally takes on average two months with an average of two questionnaires per enumerator
