47 Grades K – 2 Students will perform at Level 3 or above on: –WCPSS Mathematics Assessment –WCPSS Literacy Assessment Kindergarten, Late Emergent Grade 1, Late Developing Grade 2, Early Independent

53 What is focused intervention? Strategies designed to help an individual student meet specific academic goals. Examples include: –Coaching –Mentoring –Tutoring –Saturday school –Extended days

54 Personalized Education Plan (PEP) For students who do not score Level 3 or above on end-of-grade tests in reading and mathematics* Developed by current teacher Used for students who are promoted or retained * not in 2008

55 PEPs: Serve as the road map for students to receive the help they need to become proficient, at the minimum. Sent from one school to another (elementary to middle to high). Within in elementary school, the report card serves as PEP.
