Steps to Power Writing (cont’d) Add a clincher at the end Try to use literary elements such as metaphor, simile, alliteration, ect. Replace deadwood adjectives with power adjectives and use strong verbs Revise and edit for mechanics Type the final copy

So What is a….. A prompt is the general topic of the writing assignment. A hook is the opening sentence or two in the theme in which the reader’s interest is caught and the topic is introduced.
