5.  Our Board of Education graduation requirements include academic, applied education and fine arts courses  Students are encouraged to explore new areas of study and enrichment courses including: college partnership courses, performing and visual arts courses  Juniors are provided the opportunity to take the Accuplacer placement test to determine academic strengths and weaknesses. Students are provided with the resources to improve their skills

8.  Teachers make course recommendations for the upcoming year on the semester one report card  Students receive a course selection form to complete  Students meet individually with counselors to review and select courses for the upcoming year  With the counselor, students review required grades and prerequisites for selected classes and check that graduation requirements are being met  Students who wish to take a course for which they have not received a recommendation must conference with the teacher to discuss the skills needed to be successful in the desired course and outline the goals  If a student fulfills the goals outlined by the teacher by the end of the school year, the recommendation will be changed
