6  Protection from discrimination ◦ Equal Employment Opportunity - Stemmed from the “Civil Rights Act of 1964” ◦ Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) – administers these laws ◦ Affirmative Action – is a set of policies and programs designed to correct past discrimination  Safe working conditions ◦ Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) ◦ Government agency that enforces standards for safe and healthful working conditions
