5 Maximilien Robespierre
Believed that he could make a “Republic of Virtue” based on the ideas of the revolution Lawyer who gains power in the National Convention with Jacobins

6 National Convention Louis XVI loses power as king
Radical Jacobins try Louis for treason and find him guilty and sentence him to death

7 Execution of Louis XVI January 21, 1793: Louis executed by guillotine
