2. Waverly- Shell Rock 10 th American History World War II Essay Directions  Directions: –We will spend five days in the Media Center Computer Lab researching World War II. Each day is planned out below. –You must use blue or black ink in your final copy- write it out or word process; Double Space; use a Font of 12 or 14; use 1.5 inch side margins and at least a 1 inch top and bottom margin. – Title of your essay is - World War II. Put it on the first page – You must put a heading in the upper right hand corner of each new page of the essay. Name Date Period

3. After we have finished research in the computer lab 4 You will have one more week to complete the writing of the essay. Write the essay exactly the way you English teacher would have you write. Use proper grammar, usage, punctuation, spelling, etc 4 You will be writing one large paragraph for each of the five topics you will research for World War II. 5 Body paragraphs- each to contain the following. 4 Topic sentence- should include the title of the topic for that days research (ex. Pre- World War II)- 1 point 4 Body Paragraph will contain at least 4 main ideas about the topic from your research. Include as much detail about each main idea as you can find.- 3 points 4 Clincher- each body paragraph will have a clincher sentence to end the paragraph.- 1 point 4 Cooperative notes will be turned in and are worth 5 points 4 The student will write effectively for communication, learning and self-expression- Multi-Paragraph Writing - 5 points. 4 Total Points- 45 points (This total may be doubled) 4 You must take mind map (Web) notes every day in class. DO NOT COPY THIS REPORT- PUT IT IN YOUR OWN WORDS.

Computer research 4 Each member of the coop group will be assigned a number and that number corresponds with the folder below. 4 Use the jigsaw mind maps to take notes over as many of the folders with in the folder as you want. 4 You will have approximately 20-25 min. for taking notes over what you think are the most important things to know about your folder and then 15-20 to share with your group and put notes on your coop mind map.
