Czech Sokol Organization (COS) is gymnastic, sports and cultural organization founded on February 16, 1862 in Prague by Jindřich Fügner and MiroslavTyrš.  The oldest sports organization in Czech Republic  160.000 members (42 Sokol Districts, 1.100 Sokol Units)  Third biggest citizens association in Czech Republic  The largest organization in the field of Sport for All in Czech Republic The main spheres of activity:  Sport for All (the largest sphere, 105.000 members)  Competitive and Top Sport  Culture and Art The main COS program objective is to engage all age groups into physical activities, with regard to their particular needs and preconditions. COS main task consist in building the lifelong versatile and positive attitude to the physical activities and sport, together with development of moral and volitional qualities. Activities (Exercises) -most of them work with elderly people  Specialization: Instructor of Sport for All + Further Training: Monothematic Courses (Health Enhancing Ph. Exercises, Yoga, Stay in nature..) Education of Instructors of Seniors since 2014 Specialization: Instructor of Seniors Qualification level III. (not accredited yet) The Committee for Education in cooperation with The Committee for Health Enhancing Ph. Exercises and BOI’s of Seniors developed the concept of education and curriculum. Sokol Districts Instructors Meeting  Organized by Central Board once a year to present news, exchange experiences, to provide information regarding forthcoming events and projects and to get feedback on previous events.  Sokol Districts Instructors are responsible for activities within Sokol District and act as an example for Sokol Units Instructors. (Topics of this meeting are disseminated through local meetings to particular Sokol Units Instructors). MOVING Age Conference 30th April - 2nd May, Gent Curriculum Successful Graduate is able to:  choose appropriate content and didactic procedures with regards to age specifics of seniors.  adapt ph. activities program with regards to age specifics of elderly people.  differentiate convenient exercises for certain group of seniors.  use examination methods (testing).  unexpected situation and to provide First Aid.  ensure safety and health protection during exercise unit.  knows and is able to use proper terms and instructions.  simply describe and demonstrate particular exercises.  use proper tools and equipment.  use relaxation techniques.  use adequate way of communication with seniors and to solve related problems.  motivate.  is emphatic.  his behavior is exemplary. - Duration of exercise unit max. 60 minutes -It is very suitable to use music accompaniment. - Suitable age of instructor according to our experience: 50 (usually grown-up children, parents in old age, usually experienced, emphatic, still willing to learn, acceptable for older seniors)
