6 5 Interim Co-ordination Group Convened in late 2012 Short life! Tasked with identifying a new structure for FSDC and bringing back to wider membership Identified 4 options for the future

7 6 Option 1 FSDC continues as a forum for parents of disabled children to access information about services, and to engage with decision makers directly to influence policy

8 7 Option 2 FSDC continues as a forum for young people with disabilities to access information about services and policy which affects them, and which gives decision makers an opportunity to engage with them directly

9 8 Option 3 FSDC continues as a network of organisations working with, and on behalf of, children with disabilities and their families to share information and build consensus opinion and influencing activity around relevant developments in policy and legislation

10 9 Option 4 FSDC formally disbands

11 10 ICoG Recommendation Option 3 is the best way forward for FSDC What did FSDC members think?

12 11 Survey Monkey Results 20 people/orgs responded 100% agreed that option 3 should be adopted. Voted on future topics for meetings and potential working groups

13 12 Structure Should meet minimum of 4 x per year Meetings structured around policy agenda, with invited speakers Member orgs offer venues and allocate time for joint working Set up short life working groups to develop positions and organise influencing

14 13 Parental Engagement Memorandum of agreement with PPP Member of CiS staff to attend all meetings as observer PPP supports parents reps to attend FSDC group and working group meetings PPP supports feedback to wider parent network

15 14 Working Together Shared Set of Values and Principles across PPP and FSDC FSDC will identify Strategic Partners to complement activity ToR have been created for FSDC - member orgs and Co-ordination Group members

16 15 Topics for 2013/14 Children and Young People Bill (80%) Additional Support for Learning (45%) Self Directed Support (45%) Opportunity to feed into Government working groups
