Who’s who… Shropshire Clinical Commissioning Group Responsible for commissioning the majority of health services in Shropshire Lisa Wells, Commissioning and Redesign Lead for Women and Children’s Services Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust Deliver community services such as occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) etc Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust Deliver acute services – Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Princess Royal Hospital

Legislation and guidance Children and Families Act 2014 (Draft) Code of Practice NHS Mandate New responsibilities for health services Identification, assessment, service provision and commissioning for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities between the ages of 0 – 25

Vision Improved outcomes for children and young people Education, Health and Care Plans Better communication between health, social care and education Joint commissioning of services Better understanding of local needs through EHCPs and Joint Strategic Needs Assessment Personal Budgets Local Offer Clear roles, responsibilities and decision making Involvement and engagement of children, young people and their families

What we are doing… Involved at a strategic level – SEN & Disabled Children & Young People 0-25 Strategic Board Representation from health in all working groups including EHCP pathway and planning group and the Local Offer group Exploring options for Joint Commissioning and Personal Health Budgets Briefings for senior management within the CCG Staff briefings within the Community Trust Briefing to staff at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital Monthly 1:1s with PACC Information to be circulated to GPs via monthly newsletters Involvement in PACC Conferences and Parent Partnership Service events
