Why this topic? Challenges in transitions of lifelong learning adapting to new physical & virtual environments different teaching and learning approaches live, learn and work within new communities Transition from SE to HE students feel lost in HE > ineffective learning students lack learning to learn competences necessary in HE high dropout rates in early HE years

Why this topic? Effective learning to learn competences help learners to deal with transitions more effectively. ICT (Social networks, digital media, serious games, virtual worlds, ePortfolio and blogs) may support development of learning to learn competences. If the same approaches/tools are used throughout SE and HE the transition phase may be easier for students and more effective in terms of learning.
