Training Patient Ledger

Overview The Patient Ledger displays a patient's account information The Filter function allows you to select which debits and credits to display on the ledger and how to group the transactions

Filter The Filter function allows you to designate which transactions you would like to appear in the Patient Ledger as well as how you would like the transactions to be grouped

Fliter Dates All Dates Date Range Shows only those transactions posted to the patient's file from the date specified in the top date field through the date specified in the bottom date field

Filter Grouping Ungrouped Displays all transactions in either descending or ascending order according to date without grouping them Running Balance displays the patient's running balance in the “Remaining Column” and only applies to the ungrouped function By Claim Displays all transactions and groups charges according to the claim(s) on which the transactions have appeared

Filter Grouping Continued By Visit Displays all transactions and groups charges according to the visit(s) on which the transactions have appeared By Statement Displays all transactions and groups charges according to the statement(s) on which the transactions have appeared

Filter Order Newest to Oldest Oldest to Newest

Filter Show Debits All Incomplete Charges Missing Dx Dx Codes missing CPT (Charges)

Filter Payment Application Displays applied credits (in gray rows) under each debit transaction

Filter -CPTDXLINKS CPTDXLINKS are database place holders, and are created in Medical Records (Charting) when a Dx is selected for a patient with absence of an accompanying CPT (Charge Code)

Filter Credits Displays Credits Unapplied Credits displays unapplied credits (in gray rows) under the payments which they correspond This option is only available when the “Credits” filter is selected

Filter Total Bars Displays aged balance for insurance and patient portions for each incident and for all incidents combined

Filter Family Balance Displays basic patient information and balances for all members in the patient's household, as well as a total balance for the entire family Double clicking on a family member's name in the ledger opens the Patient Ledger for that family member

Filter Show Filter The settings inside the Filter is saved on exit and are unique to the user.

DxCode Description CPT Modifiers Credits Info about the Credit Claims Claim Number Type Total Carrier Pending Pending and Carrier Info Access to Pending Analysis Remittance Recodes Info on Recodes (if any) Bundle The charge was combined with other charges and paid as a single charge by the carrier Unbundle The charge was split into two or more charges, each of which was paid separately by the carrier Recode The billed code was changed to a different code by the carrier (down- coded)
