3 Multiple Meaning Words are words:  Are spelled and pronounced the same but have different meanings  Possibly have different parts of speech Use context clues to find the meaning of the multiple meaning words in the following sentences:  The glass had only one drop of juice. Be careful not to drop the plate.  It is important to be present at school everyday. Mom gave me a present for my birthday.  What does this word mean? Don’t be mean to others!

4 Why do readers compare and contrast? To better understand people, things or events To learn something new How are tornados and hurricanes alike and how are they different? AlikeDifferent - Both have dangerous wind - A hurricane moves slowly and a tornado moves quickly.

Then they find a place to sleep that is safe from the wether. These animals stay asleep until it gets warm in the spring. If the animals did not eat enuff before they hibernated, they might die.
