27 Acknowledgements Marie Kiessling – Marie served as my mentor and helped with the planning and advertisement of my project, allowing me use of the township library for collection bins. Jim Remsen – Jim, coordinator of Philadelphia Reads, supported my decision to donate the books, explained the organization in greater detail, and took me on a tour of the book bank when I delivered the books. Mrs. Ward – Mrs. Ward provided guidance throughout the planning of my book drive, helped me make decisions about the formation of my research projects, and edited both my second project and final presentation.

28 Acknowledgements Dr. Valenza – Dr. Valenza assisted with the research process by finding helpful websites and quite a few books specifically on reading aloud which provided valuable information for both my final products. Dr. McCarthy – Dr. McCarthy approved the flyers I hung around school and allowed me to place collection bins near the main office. Kelsey Schaum – Kelsey proofread my second research product and provided valuable feedback on formatting and content. My parents – They chauffeured me back and forth to the library to frequently check the book bins as well as to MLK High School to deliver the books. The also provided general support and encouragement.
