78. Literally… The second equation,, is called a literal equation. A literal equation is an equation with two or more variables. You are familiar with literal equations. You might know them better by the term “formula”. For example:

Since ½ is multiplying by b and h, we can “undo” the operation by using the inverse and dividing by ½. Dividing both sides of the equation by ½ is the same as multiplying by 2.
