3 Romania is situated in the southeastern part of Central Europe and shares borders with Hungary to the northwest, Serbia to the southwest, Bulgaria to the south, the Black Sea to the southeast, Ukraine to the east and to the north and the Republic of Moldova to the east.

4 Romania is a semi-parliamentary democracy based on a bicameral Parliament: the Chamber of Representatives and the Senate. 8 Population About 21.700.000 people live in Romania. Ethnic breakdown is 89% Romanian 7.5% Hungarian, 1.9% Gypsy, German, Ukrainian, Armenian, Croatian, Serbian and Turkish. More than 55% of Romania's population lives in towns and cities. There are 263 towns in Romania out of which 25 have a population of more than 100,000 while 8 cities count more than 300,000 inhabitants. 45 % of Romanians live in rural areas: 2,868 communes and 13,285 villages. The administrative divisions are called "judet" (county). There are 41 counties in Romania. The capital city, Bucharest, has the status of a county.

12 Bucharest-the capital of Romania Nicknamed "Little Paris” in the 1900’s, Bucharest, Romania's largest city and capital, is today a bustling metropolis. Located in the southeast of the country, Bucharest is the capital municipality, cultural, industrial, and financial centre of Romania Bucharest offers some excellent attractions, and has, in recent years, cultivated a sophisticated, trendy, and modern sensibility that many have come to expect from a European capital. Bucharest has been undergoing major modernization programs in recent years and is still going to continue with these projects in the years to come. European

13 Located in Bucharest, our school has 4140 square metres and was open in 1991. There are 16 classrooms, 3 labs, a library, a gym and also two Resources Rooms. We are about 34 teachers and 450 students. Children study English from the first grade and French from the fifth grade. There are optional courses and also semestrial activities regarding the culture and civilization of other European Countries and not only.

14 Despite the modest neighbourhood, our school was places on the eight place considering students’ results at the national evaluations in our district. They also have great results at Olympiads and contests and we are very proud of them. Most of the teachers are very interested in using modern methods of teaching and evaluation in order to satisfy the students’ needs and help each to maximize their potential. Moreover, our educative programms, extracurricular and extraschool activities, a good communication with parents and students, different trainings we attend help us know and understand better our students.
