In this example, the Formula is driving the POS_NAME field to Upper Case and looking for the word DIRECTOR – if found it is calling for a Background Colour of RGB(0,100,200). This effect is illustrated in the Column for Organisation – Position Name, where Directors are highlighted in the pre-formatted Blue as illustrated…. Note how the Names are also pre-formatted with the same Formula… The overall effect is to make it easy for the User to identify certain conditions without having to Read and Interpret the Data to do so.

This effect is illustrated in the Column for Organisation – Position Name, where Director’s Positions have a White Text as illustrated…. Note how the Names are also pre-formatted with the same Formula… The overall effect is to make it easy for the User to identify certain conditions without having to Read and Interpret the Data to do so.

An example of this could be Pre-formatting the ‘Date Started’ column with a ‘Traffic Light’ principle to indicate the state of an Employee’s Probation Period. In this example, the Dynamic Back Colour and Dynamic Text Colour are set to make the Data: Turn Green for the first part of an Employee’s Probation Period Turn Yellow for the last 5 Days of the Period Turn Red with White Text if they have gone beyond the Period and not had the Probation Tick-Box cleared. Used correctly, Users will frequently have conditions brought to their attention without even considering them.
