5 HR Profession Map What is it? Fulfils four key purposes for HR Capability: Communicates best practice Ensures consistency of approach Underpins different levels of CIPD membership; qualifications and assessment routes into membership. Provides a reference for continuing professional development. A capability framework It defines the professional attributes, (behaviours), skills and knowledge,(professional areas), at all levels, which drive individual performance, professionalism and organisational capability. 5

13 Group Activity: Behaviours Get into groups Each group will receive a behaviour Group discussion: 1.Do you demonstrate any of the indicators of the behaviour? 2.If so, which ones? 3.Would you use this to inform yours or others development plans? Feedback: 1.Identify one key insight about the behaviours and hence the Profession Map to the rest of the group.
