1. University of Bihać was established in 1997 and it comprises the following faculties: ► FACULTY OF PEDAGOGY ► TECHNICAL FACULTY ► FACULTY OF BIOTECHNICAL SCIENCES ► FACULTY OF ECONOMICS ► FACULTY OF LAW ► SCHOOL OF NURSING ► ISLAMIC ACADEMY OF EDUCATION

2. ► There are approximately 6060 students at the University of Bihać. ► A number of teaching staff members is 222. ► A number of assistants is 135. ► The University does not have its own space. All faculties are placed in rented buildings. ► We are about to solve the space problem for some faculties in the framework of campus.

3. UNIVERSITY ACTIVITIES REGARDING BOLOGNA ► Commissions for drawing up the Law for High Education and the Law of University of Bihać were formed and these bills were sent into parliament but unfortunately they were not enacted so that we could not take any further steps. ► The University is not an integrated institution which means that faculties are legal subjects which greatly hinders preparation process of the University according to Bologna. ► New curricula according to Bologna were created at all faculties and they were passed at the teaching council meeting.

4. ► Students’ participation in drawing up new curricula is very important ► We accepted two ways of studying: 3+2+3 and 4+1+3 ► We plan to open institutes, centers and departments at all faculties. ► We made neccessary preparations (in a sense of legal regulations) for the establishment of Quality Assurance Offices and Offices for International Cooperation at the University.

5. ► Participation of teaching staff and assistant lecturers at seminars organized by international organizations is very important, yet neither the teaching staff or students are being informed enough about the various aspects of Bologna process. ► We are preparing to conduct the survey for students in order to assess teaching process at all faculties. The survey is being prepared by teachers and students together. It is planned to be carried out in the last week of summer semester.

6. ► There are also great problems regarding University funding. ► The means we get are insufficent for financing elementary activities, so that we don’t get any support for the improvement of teachers’ and assistants’ teaching skills in terms of Bologna process.

7. ► At the Faculty of Pedagogy we made new curricula for the first year of study according to Bologna, yet we don’t teach according to them for the lack of legal regulations. ► All subjects are one-semestral. We eliminated reccurance of themes in different subjects. ► Supervision of students during the classes and practice hours is anticipated. ► It is anticipated for the students to work more alone on essays, seminar papers or in laboratory, etc.

8. ► All curricula are written down in a form of a handbook. It can be found in the faculty library, being available for all students. ► Only at the Department of Mathematics and Informatics at the Faculty of Pedagogy, the new curriculum according to Bologna is being used. ► Insufficent number of teaching staff is a big problem at the Faculty. ► We hire teachers from other Universities in BH and from abroad. ► Some of the teachers participate in the harmonization process of curricula in various projects.
