What’s New? HYPACK 2012
2
HYPACK SHELL - 1 Will act as a ‘Viewer’ when no dongle is present.
User can display data from different projects. User can enable/disable different files. User cannot run any supporting program. Icons and menus will be disabled.
3
HYPACK SHELL - 2 Rename a project Open Project Manager
Click on the Project’s name Select ‘Rename Project’ Enter a new name Project folder is renamed. Project’s INI file is renamed. Project Manager list is updated.
4
HYPACK SHELL - 3 Now exports to KMZ for Google Earth
KMZ contains zipped support files. Previously exported to KML KML files didn’t contain support files. If you someone a KML file, they won’t be able to display the supporting TIF, DXF or XYZ data. If you someone a KMZ file, they can see everything!
5
HYPACK SHELL - 4 KTD Values can be displayed and plotted.
VDATUM info can be imported into KTD EDITOR for display!
6
HYPACK SHELL - EDITORS UNIVERSAL IMPORT is dead and gone from HYPACK. (Good riddance.) Each of the following editors now has an import parsing function. Border Editor Line Editor Target Editor Manual Tides
7
HYPACK SHELL – BORDER Border Report
Displays Perimeter Distance and Area of BRD File Right-click on BRD File in Project File Listing
8
DG2 EDITOR Can display user-created symbols!
Create them in the S52 RASTER SYMBOL EDITOR Symbols are then available in the DG2 EDITOR
9
LINE EDITOR - 1 Save Template Points to XYZ Format
Useful for importing planned line points into ADVANCED CHANNEL DESIGN
10
LINE EDITOR - 2 Staggered Parallel Offsets
11
SURVEY - 1 Start-Line Gate can be moved up/down line from 1st waypoint. Positive/Negative offsets moves forward/backward along the line.
12
SURVEY - 2 Create a new planned line on-the-fly in SURVEY’s Area Map window.
13
SURVEY - 3 VDATUM routine for RTK TIDES can now determine a value if less than four nodes of a cell are populated. In early versions, if one of the corners of a VDATUM cell had no value ( ), SURVEY would not generate a VDATUM result. Now it can work with only one corner with a value!
14
SURVEY - 4 You can show: Check ‘Device Offsets’ in the Vessels window
Individual sensor positions (red) Vessel reference point (green) Vessel tracking point (blue) Check ‘Device Offsets’ in the Vessels window
15
Survey - 5 Modify the ‘In Center’ Tracking Frame % 5 to 25%
Larger values mean more frequent screen shifts.
16
SURVEY - 6 Rig Move Driver BARGE.DLL
Computes real time distance and bearing for four points on your mobile to the ‘final’ targeted position.
17
SURVEY - 7 Real time 3D MTX Display Area Map Display of MTX
Real Time MTX 3D Window Display
18
DREDGEPACK - 1 BMP/JPG Import of Dredge Profiles
Located under Editors menu: DREDGE BMP
19
DREDGEPACK - 2 BUCKETS Program Create Bucket Patterns
Utilities – Dredge Utilities menu Creates a bucket pattern design for crane and excavator operations.
20
MANUAL TIDES SINGLE DAY MANUAL TIDES and MULTI-DAY MANUAL TIDES are now combined into a single program. Built-in import from ASCII.
21
SINGLE BEAM EDITOR (SBMAX) - 1
Delete Above/Below Line in Profile Window Line is ‘free hand’.
22
SINGLE BEAM EDITOR (SBMAX) - 2
Clip extents using a Border File Survey Window Load a BRD File Clip Inside or Outside
23
SINGLE BEAM EDITOR (SBMAX) - 3
Dynamic Draft Adjustment routine is now available in SBMAX Tools – Draft Adjustment menu item. Same as DRAFTTABLE.DLL set-up.
24
SOUNDING SELECTION: MAPPER - 1
Export # of Times Cell is Ensonified 32 and 64-bit versions
25
SOUNDING SELECTION: SORT - 1
2D or 3D sort Older version (2D) would lose points on vertical surfaces. Partitions large data sets (>1,000,000 pts) in order to process huge data sets. Original Data Set Old SORT Results New SORT Results
26
CROSS SECTIONS AND VOLUMES - 1
Methods have been modified to handle complex templates. Philadelphia Pre and Post AEA 1/2/3 Norfolk Savannah Left Slope Center Channel Right Slope Left Center Channel Slope Center Channel
27
CROSS SECTIONS AND VOLUMES - 2
Set Project Depth routine modified. In 2011, it maintained the top of bank points and modified the side slope. In 2012, it maintains the side slope and modifies the top of bank points. 2011 2012
28
HYPLOT - 1 Output Sheet to: DXF DGN (New) DWG (New) GeoTIF (New)
29
HYPLOT - 2 Export to DXF/DWG now includes BMP graphics!
30
TIN MODEL - 1 Scour Face Volumes Z-Value at bottom (back) edge.
Generate a Channel (CHN) Save your CHN Go to TIN vs CHN volumes. Z-Value at top (front) edge. Width
31
TIN MODEL - 2 Improved 2-D Sectional Displays
32
TIN MODEL - 3 New TIN vs CHN Volume Options Output ‘Fill’ values
Output ‘Overdepth’ and ‘Contour Overdepth’ for all CHNs Group data in report by: Faces Zones, Sections Zones and Sections
33
TIN MODEL - 4 Pre-modeling rotations to get better detail on vertical faces Before creating the TIN, your data is projected onto a 2D surface. This can create problems when you have vertical walls, as data points with vastly different z-values get projected near the same point. By rotating the model before projecting it onto the 2D surface, you can get a better model in vertical areas.
34
TIN MODEL – 4 (con’t.) With 3D Adjustment Without 3D Adjustment
In Modify – 3D TIN, rotate your tin so that all data points will project onto a 2D surface. Then re-generate the TIN
35
ENC EDITOR - 1 New color schemes Available for display in: S-52 (old)
Bathy Blue Red-yellow-green Available for display in: HYPACK SHELL SURVEY HYPLOT ENC EDITOR Bathy Blue Traditional S-52 Red-Yellow-Green
36
Hiding Unused Contours
ENC EDITOR - 2 User can elect to remove contours not associated with shallow, deep or safety contour.
37
ENC EDITOR - 3 Pilot Planning Tool Update chart after modifying:
Tide value Keel clearance Safety margin beneath keel. Search for objects that do not provide minimum clearance.
38
UTILITIES – ADVANCED CHANNEL DESIGN
Rewritten for HYPACK 2012 Better design tools for side slopes, vertical walls and horizontal shelves. Converts PLN to CHN Generate planned lines Bring in existing planned lines and output lines with template info.
39
CONTOUR EDITOR Rewritten for HYPACK 2012
Improved to eliminate gaps between lines and solid fills after moving vertices. Smooth individual contours. Reduce number of points. Select sections of contours for smoothing/reduction.
40
UTILITIES – SINGLE BEAM LATENCY
Maintains a history of tests
41
UTILTIES – GEODESY: LIST CONVERSION
Replaces TEXT TO XY Program Converts from/to X-Y X-Y-Z Lat-Long (WGS-84) Lat-Long (Local Datum) Lat-Long-Ellipsoid Height WGS84 Lat-Long-Ellipsoid Height Local
42
