Over 2,200 students enrolled gradually over the first year, plus another 2,600 the following year after the previous service was discontinued. After experiencing the power of cloud and its benefits, Eastern is in the process of moving their alumni to the platform as well. The Kentucky Department of Education opted for the cloud and implemented a Microsoft- based hosted messaging and collaboration solution. Teachers, staff and students can access information in the cloud virtually anytime, anywhere, through popular Web browsers and from any Internet- connected PC or mobile phone. Middlesex University selected Microsoft-based cloud services for their 33,000 students and decided to continue using its Exchange Server–based system for faculty. With a Middlesex was able to expand to meet the growing volume of email and also offer students a variety of online tools for collaboration with a single communication platform based on Microsoft technologies.
