L’Île de France, Québec, L’Ouest de la France, Le Sénégal, & Le Midi (French 1) Throughout the year, we will “visit”: L’Île de France, Québec, Rennes, Dakar, & Nice (French 2)

Student materials needed every day: paper pen/pencil red ink pen dry erase marker & eraser (a clean, old sock works great) organized 3-ring binder three divider tabs for French class (sharing the binder with other classes is okay)

Student commitment: Practice pronunciation, vocabulary, and/or grammar EVERY NIGHT Do all homework assignments (Mon.-Wed.) Study for exams/quizzes IN ADVANCE! (Review grammar notes, chapter vocabulary handout, pronunciation flashcards, use/practice with the online textbook.)online textbook Earn weekly participation points and extra credit euros by being an active class participant. Teacher commitment: Consistently set high standards and maintain a “safe environment” where students are not afraid to try. Consistently promote the use of French in the classroom. Encourage students to do their best and ask for help when they need it! (Tutoring is available every day after school by appointment.)

How can you help? Check your student’s grades on Infinite Campus regularly, and encourage your student to be proactive about their grades. Contact teacher with any concerns. (Email is best way to contact me, since my voicemail has not been set up.) Assist in holding your student accountable for his/her progress.

My goal is for every student to leave this class with a good base of knowledge in French and a desire to continue on in his/her foreign language studies. Thank you for coming! MERCI!
