MBTA Mission Statement Mission Statement MBTA is dedicated to enhancing the role of the business travel professional. MBTA has recognized that providing value to its members is one of the strongest tools we have as a chapter to maintain and strengthen our membership. We continuously monitor our effectiveness as an organization thorough survey, interactive dialogue at our regularly scheduled meetings, and are openly receptive to member comments and suggestions. We are implementing many of the suggested changes and the meeting formats have now taken on a new look, to include direct member round table discussions and speakers with a greater educational focus. Formed in 1967 as one of the first affiliate chapters of the national organization. We currently have over 100 members, of which nearly 45 are Direct members (Travel, and/or Purchasing Managers). MBTA has a dedicated group of committee chairpersons who support many of the common interests of our membership. Our newly formed Education Committee monitors industry trends to ensure future meetings provide the greatest amount of timely and valuable information to our membership. Our Charity Committee coordinates a sizable contribution to local charities each year through our December holiday event and at other business meeting throughout the year. And our Technology Committee works to make sure we receive updates on technology changes in the travel industry. The key to our chapter's success lies in the dedicated efforts of our membership. We are positioned as an organization to proactively address the issues that affect our industry. “MBTA is Your Organization”

The NBTAPAC, is a tool used by the NBTA Government relations team that aggregates business travel professionals political strength and financially supports the campaigns of national candidates who are supportive of a pro-business travel legislative agenda. Review the MBTA site: –Repair any broken and unnecessary links. –Work with ALL Committees for uniformity and to build out key documents, forms, etc. Increase ease of use: –Work with Star Chapter & Treasury to implement PayPal payment options and simplify new-member process. –House “Prospect” and “Sponsor” forms and documents in an obvious place. Charity Committee Chair: Jodie Duncan Members: Sandy Chwierut, Bosch, Kathy Mastin, Visteon Jenny Baumann, Delta, Jamie Ostrander, Marriott Holiday Party Angels of Hope has been chosen to receive our monetary donations. http://www.angelsofhope.org/ Angels of Hope, a 501(c)(3) foundation, is committed to making a difference in the lives of children and those who love and care for them as they battle cancer (theirs or a parents). We realize that cancer just doesn’t impact the patient, it impacts the entire family. To us, it’s all about the family! Our programs are designed to help and support the entire family through this journey. Grace Centers of Hope has been chosen to receive our in kind donations. http://gracecentersofhope.org/ Grace Centers of Hope is Oakland County’s oldest and largest homeless shelter providing hope and help since 1942. Today, Grace Centers of Hope is considered one of the leading faith-based organizations in Southeastern Michigan daily confronting issues of homelessness, addiction, poverty and spiritual emptiness. On any given night, Grace Centers of Hope will accommodate between 150- 200 men, women and children. Each year we serve over 127,000 meals and provide over 55,000 nights of stay.
