2 Peter 3:1-14
2
This is now the second letter that I have written to you, beloved, and in both of them I have aroused your sincere mind by way of reminder; that you should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles. First of all you must understand this, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own passions and saying, "Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things have continued as they were from the beginning of creation." (2 Peter 3:1-4 RSV)
3
They deliberately ignore this fact, that by the word of God heavens existed long ago, and an earth formed out of water and by means of water, through which the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist have been stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. (2 Peter 3:5-7 RSV)
4
But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow about his promise as some count slowness, but is forbearing toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and the works that are upon it will be burned up. (2 Peter 3:8-10 RSV)

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and the works that are upon it will be burned up. (2 Peter 3:10 RSV)
6
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive good or evil, according to what he has done in the body. (2 Corinthians 5:10 RSV) And just as it is appointed for men to die once, and after that comes judgment, (Hebrews 9:27 RSV)
7
The Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son, (John 5:22 RSV) "When the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. (Matthew 25:31 RSV) He who rejects me and does not receive my sayings has a judge; the word that I have spoken will be his judge on the last day. (John 12:48 RSV)
8
Fallen Angels (2 Pet. 2:4) All Men Will Be Judged (2 Cor. 5:10; Rom. 14:10) For we know him who said, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay." And again, "The Lord will judge his people." It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. (Hebrews 10:30-31 RSV)
9
We will be judged individually. (2 Cor. 5:10 Our Works, Deeds, Conduct, and Actions. Our Words (Matt. 12:36,37) Our Secret Thoughts and Purposes (Rom. 2:16; Ecc. 12:13,14)
10
Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of persons ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be kindled and dissolved, and the elements will melt with fire! But according to his promise we wait for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, since you wait for these, be zealous to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace. (2 Peter 3:11-14 RSV)
11
For we have not a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:15-16 RSV) …Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life. (Revelation 2:10b RSV)
