Based on the card you were given: Find your partner(s) You will be responsible for completing research about the Nation the Kings on your card created You are to use the text book as back ground (ch 11) then use 2 more sources, make sure you cite them and include a work cited

Your research project You are creating a power point (which presents itself) that will inform the class about your research which should include: the then and NOW: Government/politics of your king-laws, social policy etc and now… Religion-then and now Economy-trade/then and now Technology/warfare/then and now

cont Important events (current event) for now Any notable people connected to your kings that changed history through their actions/current notables How the nation’s borders were formed/alliances now The decline of your kings Legacies!(new ideas now) Vocabulary or terms to note from text (bolded etc)

Current Event Instruction 1. Summary: No longer than 3 paragraphs that cover the Beginning, middle and end of your article. It should tell me the main idea(s). Who? What? Where? When? How? 2. CE. Theme: You must select and justify the theme your article/ Political cartoon falls under. (see next slide) 3. Relate to class Content: You must relate your article by using One of the topics listed. You should use appropriate key terms learned in class, cite examples from notes and/or text, use details. 4. Reaction: answer the questions given on instructions. How does your article affect you or help you gain a better understanding of SS/history?

Current Events Themes : You must define which current event theme the article/cartoon falls under: explain why! *Environmental problems-global warming, pollution, weather disasters etc. *Peace & Security-homeland security issues, terrorism, economic, political *Human Rights- violations against a group of people based on race, color or creed *National/international development: technology, medicine, hunger, over population
