Key concept of the sociology of gender Distinguishing between sex and gender - sex: the bilological characteristics distinguishing male and female eg. chrmosomes, anatomy, hormones, reproductive sytems etc. Gender: social, cultural and psychological traits linked to male and females. Sex makes us male or female but gender makes us feminine or masculine.
