2. Objectives 2 Welcome to the Cayuse424 Opportunity Module. In this module you will learn how to use Cayuse424 to:  Determine if your opportunity has already been downloaded into Cayuse424.  Download opportunities from Grants.gov.

3. The Opportunity 3 A new grant proposal can be built once the Opportunity (i.e. FOA) has been downloaded into Cayuse424. Before you start to build your own grant proposal you need to determine if the opportunity you are applying for has already been downloaded. You do this by reviewing the Opportunity List.

4. Reviewing the Opportunity List 4 Click Preferences. Click Update Opportunity List.

5. Reviewing the Opportunity List 5 Cayuse424 displays a list of opportunities currently stored in the web application. You can sort the list by clicking on any of the column heads:  Opportunity Number  Opportunity Title  Comp. ID  CFDA #  Opening/Closing date  Date Retrieved

6. Reviewing the Opportunity List 6 Scroll down the Opportunity List. If you locate the opportunity you are applying for, you do not need to download that opportunity again. You can simply select it using the drop-down menu on the Create New Grant Proposal window when you start building a new proposal. Refer to the Start Build training module for details.

7. Reviewing the Opportunity List 7 If you determine that your opportunity has not been previously downloaded, if must be before you can proceed. Some organizations control opportunity downloads centrally. If this is the case, you will not be able to perform the download yourself. You must contact the appropriate authority and request that they download the opportunity for you.

8. Downloading a New Opportunity 8 If your organization allows users to perform the download, it will configure Cayuse424 so that the system will allow you to do so. To retrieve an opportunity from Grants.gov you must know the Opportunity Number or CFDA#. You can obtain the Funding Opportunity number by going to www.grants.gov and using the Find Grant Opportunities link.www.grants.gov

9. Downloading a New Opportunity 9 Once you know the Opportunity Number or CFDA #, enter the number into the appropriate field. Click Retrieve Opportunities. It takes less than a minute to retrieve an opportunity.

10. Downloading a New Opportunity 10 Once an opportunity has been downloaded it can be used by any Cayuse424 user to create a new grant proposal. Refer to the Cayuse424 Start Build training module for details on how to do this.
