Goals  Update on SWIS use  The Check-in/ Check-out data module  District Integration S-Dex School Interoperability Framework (SIF)

Check In Check Out  CICO data collection and reporting application  Must have a SWIS account Will cost additional $50 annually for CICO  Development and deployment timeline Summer ’07: development and beta testing Fall ’07: further testing Available January, 2008

Student Management Goal is defined here

Choices on drop down list include Absent No data No school 0-10 possible points Use preferences to define the period names and define how many points are possible per period. If rating 3 school expectations on a 0-2 scale, there are 6 possible points per period, if rating 5 expectations on a 0-2 scale, there are 10 possible points per period Absent No Data No Sch 0 1 2 3 4 5 6

Goal line adjusts as determined by data entry

Preferences for defining data entry fields

How to Get CICO 1. School has an Active SWIS Account and SWIS Facilitator 2. A team is defined to coordinate CICO program and use data for decision-making

SWIS-CICO Readiness 4. The team has scheduled meetings and the data needed for decision making for students using CICO 5. A CICO Coordinator is trained as a SWIS user

SWIS-CICO Readiness 6. School has CICO program features including: description of program, daily report card for student, a data system for decision making, a coordinator, a process for identifying students, and process/materials for training adults, students, families

District Integration Update  S-Dex A software application that builds a bridge from SWIS to district databases Data entry into SWIS S-DEX can be located at: http://sdex.swis.org http://sdex.swis.org An S-DEX Manual is available under resources on www.swis.org and provides specific step by step instructions for set up and use.www.swis.org

S-Dex  The Good News  S-Dex works with any system that can upload an Excel file  S-Dex allows district to upload all SWIS schools at one time  S-Dex is free  S-Dex is working now  The Tough News  S-Dex requires the district Information Tech to build an upload query  S-Dex requires knowledge of the host system in the district.  As a SWIS facilitator you can only show the option, you can’t deliver the data

School Interoperability Framework  The future  Will allow all district data modules to interact. District Transportation District Grades & Demographics District DIBELS Data SWIS State Achievement Agent Zone Integration Server

SIF (When, Where, How)  SWIS will be SIF compatible by January 2008  South Carolina  Raise this with your district, and state information technology personnel now.  Avoid applications that do not offer SIF compatibility  Encourage investment in Zone Integration Server

Zone Integration Server Agent SASI Agent eSIS Pentamation SWIS School Interoperability Framework (SIF) Spring 2008 Download and upload from district databases Anticipated to be used nationwide to link software applications For more information about the School Interoperability Framework connect online at www.sifinfo.org www.sifinfo.org
