16 This leaves –Extending MRB (200K) –Risk that not all who want a second box can have one.

17 Long Term Objectives Waste Select Committee terms of reference: –Waste Resource Management and Education Park –Joint scheme for processing recyclables Preliminary talks -Norfolk Waste Partnership meeting June 7. Wheel bins –Waste reduction and alternate week collections

18 Issues for Officers 1 Research 2001 (Attitudes to Waste Management) –No to alternate week collections –See alternate weeks a reduced level of service –Changes that are not universal - unfair to smaller households (discriminatory) –Concern about how much LA can influence waste generated Research 2004 (Tenants and Leaseholders) –Easier for bulky items to be collected by caretaker –Not willing/able to travel to take bulky items away.

19 Issues for Officers 2 BVPIs require more recycling and less waste overall. Twin bin schemes appear to reduce waste overall Re-use - reduction to landfill and change in credits payment due April 2006. Organics – facility for processing – increase waste collected (garden waste) – diversion from landfill (LATS)
