1st Amendment Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances...

“Well regulated Militia”
2nd Amendment A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. “Well regulated Militia” a part of the organized armed forces of a country liable to call only in emergency.

3rd Amendment No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.

4th Amendment The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

You cannot be tried for the same crime twice
5th Amendment The right that the state must follow all laws. If they do not you will go free (mistrial). Due Process Self-Incrimination You have the right to not admit to a crime and say nothing that might get you into deeper trouble. Double Jeopardy You cannot be tried for the same crime twice

At your trial you can bring witnesses to defend you
6th Amendment Fair and Speedy Trial That you cannot be held in prison without the court setting a date for your trial. Witnesses At your trial you can bring witnesses to defend you Lawyer You have the right to have an attorney whether you can afford it or not (public Defender)

7th Amendment Trial by Jury
You have the right to have to a Jury of 12 of your peers to hear your case and decide whether you are innocent or guilty.

8th Amendment Excessive fines and Bail
When you are put in jail often a bail will be set based on the severity of the crime. You will be held in jail until you pay bail and until a judge or jury finds you innocent. Excessive fines and Bail Cruel and Unusual Punishment You cannot be tortured, you must receive food and shelter, and protection from others in jail.

Disallows people from one state suing a state they do not live in. (Sovereign Immunity) 12th Amendment Creating the electoral college and how they president/vice are elected.
