2. Wednesday April 7, 2010 In April 1990, the Hubble Telescope was launched. The Hubble has provided us with never before seen photos of deep space. Do you think it’s beneficial to study our universe, as well as other universes? Do you think we may someday discover life on another planet? Explain what it may be like.

8. Monday April 19, 2010 In 1917, the 35th President, John F. Kennedy was born. For many of his school years, Kennedy attended a private school for boys. 9. Wednesday April 21, 2010 In 1888, Jim Thorpe was born. Thorpe was an amazing athlete playing both professional sports and participating in the Olympics. Thorpe’s achievements were recognized on a postage stamp. Who are other famous Americans that deserve a postage stamp? Is having a postage stamp really such a great honor? What do you think is the best way to recognize people who achieve great things?

10. Thursday April 22, 2010 June 3rd marks the first U.S. spacewalk by Ed White in 1965 during the Gemini 4 mission. White’s family was known for its pilots and military officers. It was natural for him to take this career path. Is there a type of “career path” in your family? Do you think it’s important for kids to do the same job as their parents? What do you hope to do in the future?

11. Friday April 23, 2010 In 1783, the Montgolfier brothers completed the first hot air balloon flight. The passengers in this first flight were a sheep, rooster, and duck.
