Physical characteristics Created from light Seeing them: only Muhammad (sas) saw any in their true form Their immense size The bearers of the Throne

Features Wings Beauty Resemble humans only when appearing in human form Variation of form and status Not male or female They do not eat or drink They never get bored or tired They dwell in the heavens Their huge numbers

Jibril Mikaa’il Israfil Malik (hell) Ridhwan (heaven) Munkar and Nakeer Harut and Marut

Honorable and obedient Modesty

Take on different forms Speed beyond anything we know Knowledge Disputes (2) Disciplined and organized Infallible (fully obedient to Allah)

Their nature is to worship Allah No desires interfere with their ‘uboodiya and obedience They fear Allah Their status: honored slaves of Allah They do exactly what they are commanded

Tasbeeh Standing in rows Hajj (Al-Bait Al-Ma’moor) Their fear of Allah

The angels with the believers - continued They fight alongside the believers They protect the Messenger (sas) They protect the righteous Attend funerals Shade the martyrs Brought At-taaboot Protect Makkah and Madeenah from Ad-Dajjal Descend with Isa Spread their wings over Ash-Shaam

Our obligation to the angels Not to offend them Keep away from sin and disobedience The angels with the disbelievers Bringing the punishment in this life People of Loot Cursing the disbelievers
