1. Geography Where Do We Live?

2. This is Earth. That’s the name of the planet where we live.

3. The planet Earth is made up mostly of water. Geographers organize Earth’s water surface into parts. –Geographers divide the major waters of the world into 4 major oceans: Pacific Ocean Atlantic Ocean Indian Ocean Arctic Ocean –Lakes and seas are smaller bodies of water. Water Surface

4. Our planet’s land surface is divided up into 7 large landmasses called continents. –Africa –Antarctica –Australia –Asia –Europe –North America –South America Land Surface

The Continents Are Divided Up! 5 of the continents are broken up into sections of land called countries. –Africa –Asia –Europe –North America –South America 1 of the continents is broken up into sections of land called territories. –Australia 1 of the continents has no countries or territories at all. In fact, it really has no one living there! –Antarctica
