writes lots of plays and sonnets and is soon regarded as the greatest playwright of all time
He has written 37 plays, 154 sonnets (a poem of fourteen lines that follow a strict rhyme scheme and logical structure) and lots of other poems
He started writing poems in the late 16th century because the Elizabethans considered the writing of poetry to be more important than the writing of plays
