1564 1564- William Shakespeare is born in Stratford upon Avon, to John and Mary Shakespeare.

1571: Shakespeare begins his formal education at the age of 7, at the local grammar school. 1582: Shakespeare, now age 18, marries Anne Hathaway, at the time she was 26. 1583: William and Anne welcome their first child, Susanna. 1585: William and Anne welcome their twins, Judith and Hamnet.

: It is believed that Shakespeare left his family to join a company of actors. 1589 – 1590: Shakespeare wrote Henry VI, Part One during this time. 1590 – 1591: Shakespeare wrote Henry VI, Part Two and Henry VI, Part III during these two years. 1592 – 1593: Shakespeare wrote the poem Venus and Adonis during this time.

1594: The Comedy of Errors, The Rape of Lucrece, Titus Andronicus, and The Taming of the Shrew are all written during this year. 1595: During this year it is believed that Shakespeare wrote King John, Love Labour’s Lost, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Romeo and Juliet.

1596 - 1598 1596: William writes The Merry Wives of Windsor.
1597: He writes The Merchant of Venice and Henry IV, Part One during this year. 1598: Shakespeare writes Henry IV, Part Two and becomes an established actor with his performance in Ben Johnson’s Every Man in his Humor.

1599 – 1602 1599: In this year William writes Much Ado About Nothing and Julius Caesar is performed at the Globe Theatre for the first time. 1600: Shakespeare writes Hamlet. 1601: Shakespeare writes the narrative play The Phoenix and the Turtle. 1602: He composes Troilus and Cressida.

1604: Shakespeare writes Measure for Measure during this year. 1606: Antony and Cleopatra is written. 1607 – 1608: Timon Of Athens, Pericles, and Coriolanus are composed. 1609 – 1610: William writes Cymbeline during this time. 1611: Shakespeare writes The Winter’s Tale and The Tempest.

1612 - 1616 1613: The Globe Theatre burns down.
1614: The Globe Theatre reopens. 1616: William Shakespeare passes away, his burial is recorded in the Stratford holy Church.
