ENGLISH Class focused on developing writing fluency and increasing writing skills journaling frequent essays daily responses in class Advanced grammar study (clauses, phrases, sentence structure) Class works on improving reading comprehension and analysis reading novels, short stories, poems, essays, non-fiction writing working on response to literature, especially group discussions working with increasingly sophisticated literary devices and topics (allegory, irony, allusion, figurative language, theme, etc.)
