6 What is a Podcast? A series of digital media files released as episodes that can be downloaded. You can listen to podcasts using ITunes

7 What is Audacity? Audacity is a free, easy-to-use and multilingual audio editor and recorder for Windows, Mac OS X, GNU/Linux and other operating systems. You can use Audacity to: multilingual Record live audio. Convert tapes and records into digital recordings or CDs. Edit Ogg Vorbis, MP3, WAV or AIFF sound files. Cut, copy, splice or mix sounds together. Change the speed or pitch of a recording.

9 How to- Audacity – Download Audacity by going to http://audacity.sourceforge.net/about/ http://audacity.sourceforge.net/about/ – Download LAME mp3 encoder (follow screen directions) – Open Audacity – Make sure headphones are plugged in – Once you are ready to record press the red circle at the stop of the tool bar – Use the other controls as needed – Saving: -First time only: -Select “save project” (name it) -Select “export as a MP3” (under file) -Select “C drive: files then select “Lame for Audacity” (may be somewhere else depending on where you saved LAME) -Select “open” -Future saving: -Only have to save as name it then export as a MP3 and save
