24 Credits 1 credit = 1 full year long class 2.0 Unweighted Grade Point Average (GPA) That’s a “C” average 40 Community Service Hours Assessments: Pass the Grade 10 Reading Common Core Assessment Take the Grade 11 Reading Common Core Assessment when implemented Pass the Algebra 1 EOC with a Level 3 or higher for Graduation and 30% of final grade Take the Geometry EOC for 30% of final grade Take the Biology EOC for 30% of final grade Take the US History EOC for 30% of final grade

Each high school course that is taken will result in two grades being issued: a Semester 1 grade and a Semester 2 grade. Semester 1 Q1 Q2 Mid-term Exam Semester 2 Q3 Q4 Final Exam

9 th Grade Year Matters! There will never be a time when you will be able to impact your GPA more than in 9 th grade. Good grades do not happen over night! Start preparing for high school NOW ! Build your study habits Do all of your work Use your resources

Consider your previous FCAT/FSA scores, current grades and teacher recommendations If you are taking a high school class such as Algebra 1 Honors, Geometry Honors, Spanish, Spanish for Speakers, or Italian and you have earned a C+ or worse (C, D, or F) – consider re-taking it next year for a better grade. Plan for your future – Honors and AP classes prepare you for college and help boost your GPA.
